Commitments that lead to tangible results
Sanimax, a family business established in Quebec over 80 years ago, is still driven by the same values upheld by its generous and determined cofounders, Alex and Déziel Couture, who strove to build a company culture focused on those around them.
Today, Sanimax continues to promote these values by being attuned to the needs of its employees, clients and surrounding communities. Our commitments speak for themselves.
Odour management
The transportation of organic matter to our facilities is sometimes accompanied by odours, especially during heatwaves. We take this matter very seriously, taking concrete day-to-day measures to limit the impact of our operations on the everyday lives of those residing close to our transformation facilities.
Logistical adjustments adapted to each of our facilities along with the implementation of a state-of-the-art logistics system, the addition of processes automation, the improvement of our artificial intelligence, and targeted investments help improve the overall performance and stability of our operations. In concrete terms, these improvements allow us to deal with fewer unforeseen circumstances and thus work faster, all of which reduce the risk of odours.
Environment
The environment is at the heart of our rendering operations. Each year, we renew over two million tons of organic by-products that would otherwise be sent to landfills!
We continuously improve our methods, as we aspire to build a greener future for generations to come. In each of our factories, we invest in equipment and constantly set in motion new innovative projects to reduce our ecological footprint.
Community
Cohabiting with neighbours who live increasingly closer to our transformation sites is a major challenge. We are extremely aware of the impact our operations have on the everyday lives of residents, which is why we act proactively by implementing innovative solutions to preserve harmonious relations. Moreover, we invest time and resources to help these communities prosper.
