Sanimax is proud to announce the completion of a major expansion project at its Sainte-Rosalie site, which began in 2023. With a total investment of $2.5 million, this project illustrates our commitment to optimizing our operations while fostering harmonious relations with the community.
The project was carried out in two phases. Completed in 2023, the initial phase focused on expanding the transloading areas. This improvement allowed trucks to be unloaded inside the facility with the doors closed.
The second phase, which has just been completed, involved the installation of a 106-foot smokestack and a high-performance ventilation unit, both of which are now operational and helping to improve the quality of life of our neighbours.
Sanimax celebrated the completion of its expansion project by hosting André Beauregard, the Mayor of Saint-Hyacinthe, along with his team. During the event, they unveiled the new facilities and discussed the various improvements.
“Our visit to Sanimax allowed us to witness the considerable efforts that have been made to facilitate the integration of the plant into the neighbourhood. This expansion is a good example of cooperation between the city and a company committed to doing the right thing.” André Beauregard, Mayor of Saint-Hyacinthe.
This project is part of our continuous improvement initiative to align operational performance with social responsibility.
“This $2.5 million investment demonstrates our commitment to fostering harmonious community relations. We are grateful to the City of Saint-Hyacinthe for its support and to our teams for their hard work. Together, we’re building a greener future.” Terry Finn, Senior Vice President – Country Manager Canada.
